The cam action mechanism, rather than a rack and pinion, makes these closers a perfect choice for care homes and educational properties as they are less prone to misuse or damage because there's no protruding arm. Cam action door closers use a cam mechanism to reduce the resistance when opening a door, which enables a door to be opened using a low amount of force - making them a great choice for meeting the requirements of Approved Document M + BS 8300. Cam action closers work with a slide arm – we stock both surface mounted on the door and concealed models. They have a much slimmer, sleeker profile than rack and pinion closers and are considered to be more aesthetically pleasing and architectural. We can supply an array of plated and painted finishes to special order.
