Can you cut twin slot uprights?
Yes, the uprights can be cut down using a hacksaw. However, be mindful of the position of the screw holes when cutting.
How far apart should twin slot uprights be?
As a general rule, we recommend 60cm spacing between uprights for heavy duty applications, and 75cm spacing for general home and office storage. Please be aware though that the spacing will be dependant on the shelves you are using and the load, so we always recommend marking out first. The heavier the load, the closer together the uprights should be to ensure even load distribution.
How many uprights do I need?
This largely depends on a combination of three factors:
- How much load you intend to put on the shelving
- How strong the wall and wall fixing will be
- How thick are the shelves - will they bow when loaded
As a rule of thumb we recommend 60cm spacing between twin slot uprights for heavy duty applications, and 75cm spacing for general home and office storage.
What size screws for twin slot shelving?
We recommend screw gauge 5.0 metric or 10 imperial.
Choose screw length and fixing plugs carefully to suit your wall type. The system will only be as strong as the wall fixings.
Is Twin Slot shelving strong?
Yes, it's widely considered to be the best option where wall mounted adjustable shelving is required, and with more slots per upright it's a more stable option for shelving. Our uprights are made from 2mm thick steel, and our largest brackets can hold up to 153kg - please bear in mind that the load weight is dependant on the wall fixings, so always ensure you use the correct fixings for your wall.
What is the anti-microbial coating?
Anti-microbial powder coating inhibits bacterial growth, making this system ideal for hospitals and food environments
How do I fit twin slot shelving?
- Plan your system on paper first, measure out and evenly space the wall upright bars
- As a rule of thumb, we recommend 60cm spacing between uprights for heavy duty applications, and 75cm spacing for general home and office storage

- Drill and fix centre fixing each upright first, add brackets and check shelves will be level
- When ok drill through uprights to mark correct location of remaining fixings and fix
- Add the brackets and shelves, usually starting at the top - space out and check you are happy with spacings before screw fixing shelves
