Our Fire Door Gap Reducing Seal is designed to help bring non-compliant fire doors back into compliance without replacing the complete door set. Using low modulus spacer profiles, the packer helps reduce excessive gaps around the perimeter and bottom of fire doors to support fire performance and maintain compliance.
Designed as a practical remediation solution, the packer can be installed to the sides and head of the frame or used at the bottom of the door with a compatible fire seal carrier (sold separately). It is particularly useful where excessive clearances would otherwise result in costly door replacement or major remedial works.
Tested in accordance with BS EN 1634-1 and BS 476 Part 22 and is suitable for 54mm FD60 fire doors. The system has been tested to remediate gaps of up to 15mm around the perimeter of the door and up to 25mm at the bottom of the door, helping maintain the integrity of the fire door assembly.
The low modulus spacer profiles can also be used alongside other compatible low modulus seals to ensure varying gap sizes are effectively covered. Each pack is supplied with pins, alcohol wipes, an identification label and data pin to assist with secure installation and traceability.
